Frankfurt am Main, August 2023. From 25 to 27 August 2023, the INOVA COLLECTION celebrated its premiere at its new location on the Frankfurt trade fair grounds with over 300 brands and an extensive supporting programme. This year, the trade fair followed a new daily schedule and ended with the most trade visitors on Sunday, as expected.
Max Maus, project manager of the INOVA COLLECTION, sees excellent development opportunities for the trade fair format after the launch in Frankfurt: “We are very proud of what we have achieved so far with the INOVA COLLECTION. The move to the Frankfurt trade fair grounds offers us great potential for growth. With this important milestone, we have created an ideal basis on which to build. Now we need to take the lessons learned from the past few days and develop our joint trade fair brand further as effectively as possible in the interests of the industry.”
Martin Weskamp, co-organiser of the INOVA COLLECTION, adds: “With the improved infrastructure and accessibility of the new location, we were able to produce cross-segment growth in the brand portfolio. Even though we would like to see even more international customers among the visitors next year, it was the right step to go to Frankfurt with this format. We are particularly pleased that many exhibitors have accompanied us on this journey from the very beginning and have had our backs. We would like to express our sincere thanks for this support and appreciate the trust placed in us.”
Many exhibitors welcomed the change of location for the INOVA COLLECTION and were delighted with new customer contacts and the high quality of trade visitors. “The move to Frankfurt and a larger exhibition site was the best decision the INOVA COLLECTION has taken,” says Frank Heringer, managing director of DiamondGroup. Georg Plum, managing director of M&M Watches, emphasises: “In my opinion, the trade fair has become much more mature and professional with the move to Frankfurt. I miss the international nature of the customers a little, but we were very satisfied with the quality of the trade visitors and new customers.”
In addition, the networking opportunities and the friendly environment were repeatedly highlighted: “For us, participating in the INOVA COLLECTION trade fair is like a ‘family get-together’. Here we meet people we have known for decades and also get to know some potential new customers,” says Peter Barth, operations manager at Burger Edelmetalle. Dirk Proksch, sales director at Sternglas, says: “The highlight for me was definitely the atmosphere. You feel like you’re part of a ‘watch and jewellery family’.”
Christoph Paukner, managing director of PALIDO Fine Jewels, summarises: “I am pleased that we are now at the new location and congratulate the organiser on the new concept. It would be great if the industry realised that we need one ‘must-visit’ autumn trade fair in Germany – and what could that be if not the INOVA COLLECTION, which has been doing an excellent job for years and which should also receive the respect of visitors for this.”
This year, the INOVA COLLECTION was supplemented with an extensive supporting programme that turned the trade fair into an interactive community event with major future topics such as digitalisation, the shortage of skilled workers and sustainability. The highlight of the first day of the trade fair was the award ceremony of the GOLDEN NOVA under the motto “Jewellery of the Future: Vision 2035”. For the fifth time, young designers, students, apprentices and graduates of the individual training courses were able to apply for the junior award and submit their own meticulously crafted piece of jewellery. A top-class expert jury, including our media partner Goldschmiede Zeitung, selected the ten nominees and determined the three best places for bronze, silver and gold.
The competition was won by Jiayi Zhang from Vienna, who received the Golden Nova for her piece “The Ring of Eternity: An Ode to the Future”. Jiayi Zhang was also awarded the Audience Prize and, in addition to the prize money, is permitted to present herself at a free space during the INOVA COLLECTION 2024. The silver award went to Patricia Okay Koch (Forum Goldschmiede Wien) for her ring “Vitória-Régia (Giant Water Lily)” and the Golden Nova in bronze was awarded to Stephan Günther (Staatliche Zeichenakademie Hanau) for his bracelet “Parametric Ornament Bracelet”.
The top three winners were once again delighted with attractive prizes: The winners received a precious metal account balance of €1,500 from Burger Edelmetalle and shopping vouchers worth €1,200 or €800 respectively from Rudolf Flume Technik und der Hesse GmbH & Co. KG.
