HOW CHINA BECAME THE DRIVING FORCE OF THE COLOURED GEMSTONE MARKET
Twenty years ago, coloured gemstones played virtually no role in China – jade dominated the market. Today, China is one of the most important drivers of demand for ruby, emerald and beyond, and plays a decisive role in shaping which qualities and certificates are sought after worldwide.
Gemmologist and gemstone dealer Tatjana Li witnessed this transformation first-hand. She shares what motivates Chinese buyers, how live-stream selling emerged as a distribution channel, why jewellery is regarded there as a financial investment, where East and West continue to differ to this day, and what working with distribution channels in these regions of the world actually looks like.

The World of Jewellery Photography – Small Details, Big Impact
Fine jewellery deserves a fine presentation. But why do some pieces look desirable, exclusive and compelling in photographs – while others, despite their quality, fail to make the same impression?
In this workshop seminar, Pixelgold uses concrete real-world examples to explore which details shape the perception of value, and why lighting, perspective and the precise styling of jewellery pieces make all the difference. Discover the most common mistakes that undermine product photography – and why even the smallest adjustments can have a remarkable effect.
The second part of the workshop offers the opportunity to discuss individual questions around jewellery photography, visual impact and product presentation directly with the experts from Pixelgold.
A workshop for anyone who wants to understand how professional imagery transforms the way jewellery is perceived – whether you take your own photographs or simply want to assess your photographer’s work with a more discerning eye.

11:30 – 12:30 | keynote presentation: ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN AN INDUSTRY BUILT ON TRUST
When everything can be generated, the authentic becomes priceless
The jewellery and watch industry stands for rarity, craftsmanship, trust and emotion. And yet it is precisely this industry that now finds itself confronted with a technology capable of producing the generic at the touch of a button. The defining question, therefore, is not whether artificial intelligence is coming – but where the line is drawn: what can be left to the machine, and what remains the product itself?
Lars Piezl addresses this question through concrete, real-world examples. He shows where artificial intelligence can already provide meaningful support for businesses today – in marketing and on social media, in customer communication, in preparing proposals, and in day-to-day workflows. At the same time, he explores where its use can damage a brand that lives by its personal touch.
This keynote presentation is aimed at owners and managing directors – from the independent atelier to multi-location businesses. Participants will gain a practical overview of where AI can add genuine value to their own operations, where its limits lie, and how to take the first steps as early as the next working day. Addressing any reservations about artificial intelligence is also an explicit part of the presentation.
Lars Piezl invites open dialogue and engages directly with the questions and specific characteristics of the industry in conversation with participants.

At the heart of the conversation is a format that grew out of a digital community and today lives on at the INOVA COLLECTION as a real-world meeting place for the jewellery, design and goldsmithing scene. Together, ideas, experiences and perspectives for the future development of the regulars’ table will be explored and discussed.
