At the beginning of this year, the new German packaging law (VerpackG) replaced the old packaging legislation (VerpackV). This new law raises important questions about sales and packaging materials for timepiece and jewellery retailers, suppliers and online stores. The speaker will also shine a light on terms such as Beteiligungspflicht (mandatory participation), Registrierungspflicht (mandatory registration) and the newly created central packaging register (“Zentrale Stelle Verpackungsregister”). Many industry participants still feel in the dark and are looking for answers. Following the introduction to the topic, the audience is invited to direct their questions to Dr. Gregor Kuntze-Kaufhold, legal advisor to publisher ‘markt intern’. There should also be enough time during the event for short one-to-one conversations.

During this presentation, you will be introduced to the 3D CAD/CAM software designed specifically for goldsmiths, jewellery designers and watchmakers. With the help of examples, we will highlight the differences to similar software solutions. You will gain an insight into the intuitive and easy-to-use software that will help you create fascinating pieces of jewellery. Prepare to be amazed by the photorealistic imaging that enables you to incorporate your customers’ wishes quickly and easily.

The operating software for the 3D printers from Formlabs and DWS will be presented along with the operation of and opportunities offered by the new technology.

We will show which apparatus and materials are needed to create jewellery using 3D printing. The process is demonstrated with examples.

We will demonstrate the new opportunities offered by laser engraving. We will present: Laser engravers from BN-Laser und Redt. Learn how to use your PC to control the engraving of text and image and find out which new business areas you can tap into.
